“You make known to me the path of life, you will fill me with joy in your presence…” Psalm 16:11

Grief Coaching

I have personal experience with miscarriage, stillbirth, and the loss of a child shortly after birth.  Through these experiences, God has given me a passion for ministering to others walking through grief, loss and painful life experiences.

My own mother died of inflammatory breast cancer 3 years ago.  At the time, my family and I had just taken an unplanned medical resignation from the mission field due to my husband becoming very ill on the field.  Upon our return, he had to have his entire large intestine removed to virtually save his life.  It was a very stressful and unwanted transition back to the US from our assignment as career missionaries in Southern Mexico working among the Nahuatl people group.

I can relate to loss, feelings of life being out of your control, and wanting things to be back to normal.

What is grief coaching?

Grief coaching begins by recognizing an individual’s ability to heal, address issues, confront challenges and take action. The role of the grief coach is to bring these attributes to the surface at a time when they may not be apparent to a struggling survivor.

When you are facing loss, you may feel that life will never be normal again and have no idea how you will ever learn to live beyond your loss.

Grief coaching is about creating “a new normal”.

Benefits of grief coaching

As a grief coach, I will encourage and support you as we walk through the process of mourning your loss and starting your journey to creating a new normal.  I will help you to:

  • develop a positive vision for the future
  • create strategies for achieving specific life goals, emphasizing action and accountability
  • discover hope, even in the midst of pain and difficult circumstances
  • move forward and learn to live beyond your loss and challenges

I have been trained in grief coaching through the Grief Coaching Center  in a one-on-one setting by both Dr. H. Norman Wright and coach trainer, Kimberly Dinsdale.

It would be my honor to walk alongside you as you work through your grief and create a vision for your future.  Together we can take steps forward into your “new normal”.
