“You make known to me the path of life, you will fill me with joy in your presence…” Psalm 16:11

What is Coaching?

Coaching is about change and growth!

It is about vision, dreams, hope, forward movement, strengths, and potential.

Coaching looks at where you are today, and helps you to take responsibility for your life and take action to grow and maximize your potential.

A coach helps you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.   Christian coaching helps you get to where God would have you to be!

Life Coaching focuses on discovering your values and purpose and aligning your life with them.   Life coaching is about destiny, discovery, and alignment.   A life coach works toward creating a better future and a better life today.   Coaching focuses on strengths and forward movement.   A coach inspires you to dream and reach higher than you would do on your own.

A coach believes in you and listens to and guides you with powerful questions as you explore and make your own decisions.    A coach draws answers out of you.    A coach does not give advice or tell you what to do.    A coach asks instead of tells.

A coach believes

  • God is already active in the lives of others and they can take responsibility and solve their own problems much better than the coach can.
  • They most need me to believe in them and to provide support, encouragement and accountability as they act on what they know.

If I’m giving advice, I believe

  • God wants to do something in the lives of others, but they don’t have the ability to figure things out and need answers.
  • They most need me to solve their problems, and once they have the right ideas, they ought to be able to walk them out on their own.

A coach is not a mentor, telling you what to do by the example of what worked in his or her own life, nor is a coach a counselor or consultant, telling you what is wrong and what to do to fix it.    Coaching is not therapy, although it may be therapeutic.    Coaching is a partnership between the coach and client.    You are the expert of your own life—not the coach.

Coaching is powerful!
